Ayurvedic Remedies For Hair Care


Ayurvedic Remedies for Dandruff:



Mix up a spoon of camphor to half a cup of coconut oil. Instead of coconut you can use neem oil otherwise. Keep this mixture in a air tight container, preferably a glass container and use this oil to massage your scalp before going to bed. Practice this continuously for at least 15 days and feel the difference of your healthy scalp. After 15 days do it for alternate days for the best of result.

Add a spoon of castor oil, mustard oil and little coconut (or neem) oil and massage your scalp every night and have a shampoo the day next.

Ayurvedic Remedies for Hair loss:



Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.

Boil neem leaves in water. Cool, strain and rinse hair with it.

Increase green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts in the diet. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, Soya beans, whole grains and nuts.

Ayurvedic Remedies for Premature graying of Hair:



Apply a paste made from 2-Tsp. henna powder, 1-tsp. curd, 1-tsp. fenugreek seed powder, 1 tbsp. coffee, 2-tbsp. mint juice and 2-tbsp. basil juice. Apply this paste to the hair for two hours. For a darker color, leave this paste in for 3 to 4 hours. Wash hair with any natural shampoo.

Grate some fresh ginger. Mix with honey and place it in a jar. Eat 1-teaspoon everyday.

Ayurvedic Remedies for Itchy scalp:



Rub the scalp vigorously after washing the hair. It increases the blood circulation, and activates the sebaceous glands.

A mixture of lettuce and spinach juice is good to drink to induce hair growth. The juice of alfalfa mixed with that of carrot, and lettuce juice is also good to take.

Daily application of coconut oil mixed with lime- juice on the hair is also beneficial. Applying juice of green coriander leaves on the head is also good.

Washing the hair with a paste of cooked Uraddal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) 2-3 times a week.

A paste of licorice made by grinding it in milk can be applied in the bald patches. It induces hair growth. A paste of seeds of lemon and black pepper may also be applied on the bald patches.

Use Amla (embilica officinalis), Shikakai (Acacia concinna) for washing the hair.

Enhance oiling and massaging of scalp.

Use coconut oil or mustard oil at least three times in a week.

Use medicated oils on the scalp and massage gently in the roots of the hair.

The diet should contain more green leafy vegetables, salads, milk, fruits and sprouts. Take more proteins, milk, buttermilk, yeast, wheat germ, soybean and vitamin A.

Simple Ayurvedic Tips For Beauty...


The ancient science of Ayurveda is an ancient philosophy based on Eastern ideas about the body and the mind. Ayurveda teaches that each individual has the power to heal themselves, and that diet should be based upon each person’s unique constitution. The constitutional types in Ayurveda are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Each person can favor one type, or have attributes of different constitutions that affect the way their body functions. Many of the Ayurvedic tips and practices meant to benefit the skin and aid beauty can be utilized by people of any body type. Follow these tips to experience the natural remedies offered through Ayurvedic tradition.

1. Use Turmeric and Sandalwood to Control Acne:

A paste made out of turmeric and sandalwood powder can be used externally to fight acne. Make the paste by combining one teaspoon of each ingredient with enough water to make a spreadable paste. Leave the paste on for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water every night.

2. Avoid too much Salt and Naturally Salty Food:

Salt causes the body to retain water which can lead to skin inflammation, rashes and pimples. Keep these foods to a minimum, or cut them out of your diet altogether to help your skin avoid the affects of water retention.

3. Purify the Blood to Battle Acne:

A persistent rash can be a symptom of toxins in the blood. To purify the blood, take a mild herbal laxative followed by a cup of burdock tea. Make the tea by steeping 1 teaspoon of burdock root powder with 1 cup of hot water. Drink the tea nightly until symptoms dissipate.

4. Make a Pulp out of Cilantro to Fight Against Rashes:

Take fresh cilantro and chop it until you make a pulp. Apply the pulp externally on the affected areas of the skin to help relieve the symptoms.

5. Bring out Boils with Onions:

Boils are infected regions inside of the skin that fill with fluid and can be very painful and are often times hard and red in appearance. To treat a boil, cook onions and apply them directly to the boil as a poultice. Once the boil has fully developed and has become soft, it will be ready to be drained so that it can fully heal and the pain can be relieved.

6. Drink Coriander Tea to Aid in Treatment of a Rash:

Treat a rash internally as well as externally to get the benefits of both kinds of Ayurvedic therapy. Ayurvedic medicine recommends drinking one glass of coriander tea every night until the itching and redness of the rash are gone. Make the tea by steeping 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds with 1 cup of hot water.

7. Employ Aloe Vera Juice to Help with Acne:

Drinking aloe vera juice may be beneficial for problem skin. Try drinking ½ cup of the pungent flavored juice twice daily until the skin is clear.

8. Treat Sunburn with Coconut oil:

Coconut oil is helpful oil for the skin, and can be used topically to help heal the skin after any kind of a burn. Coconut oil helps re-hydrate the skin.

Simple Beauty tips in Ayurveda:


Even natural remedies can have side effects if applied without expert guidance and supervision. This is because body constitution of every individual differs. Many other factors like diet, exercise, yoga and meditation also play a vital role in making the remedies successful. Importantly, they are simple to follow, easy-to-practice and cost-effective.

1. Take milk and rice flour. Make a thick paste by adding rice flour to milk. Stir it. Add little turmeric powder to it. Apply before bath. (Acts as a good cleanser and moisturiser).

2. Soak a small quantity of almonds in rose water. Take equivalent quantity of sprouted moong pulses. Grind the soaked almonds and sprouted moong together. Blend it with multani matti. (Effective for preventing pimples.)

3. Fresh aloe vera gel, straight from the plant is hydrating, soothing, detoxifying, and helps to prevent or reduce the appearance of scar tissue. It also helps to heal cuts, burns (especially sunburn) and reduces the irritation of bug bites. A live aloe plant is a great attribute to any home.

Face Packs:

(1) Silk Cotton tree thorn paste ( For Pimples)

Ingredients :-

1. Big thorns of Silk cotton tree.
2. Milk

Method of preparation :-

Rub thorns briskly and circularly on a grinding stone (Available in Indian stores or temples) sprinkling milk at intervals. The paste start accumulating on grinding stone as the process continues. Collect the paste so formed and apply it as a face pack. This removes pimples and their marks.

Split Orange lentils (Masoor dal) Flour pack ( Gives glow to Skin)

Ingredients:-

1.
Split orange lentils (Masoor dal flour which is available in Indian stores) flour
2. Milk
3. Ghee

Method of preparation :-

Prepare a paste by mixing the flour with ghee and milk .Apply this as face pack. This enhances the glow of skin.

Sandal wood powder pack (Rejuvenates skin)

Ingredients:-

1. Sandal wood powder
2. Turmeric powder
3. Milk

Method of preparation:-

Mix all the ingredients to form a paste. Apply this as face pack. This rejuvenates the skin.
