Simple Men Skin Treatment

The skin replenishes itself every 21 to 28 days. When you think about – this is a remarkable opportunity. What other body part can you renew in three or four weeks? If we could do that with every organ, we’d probably be much healthier. However, the success of the renewal process – or lack thereof – depends on what you do with your skin and the rest of your body during that time period. Here’s a good natural skin care treatment routine that will ensure your skin is replaced with something better, not worse, at the end of that month.

1. Get rid of the sodas, ice-cream, chips, candy and sugar-laden deserts. Satisfy your sweet tooth with fruit. It may take some getting used to but, having done this myself, I can tell you that if you’re diligent about it, the cravings will disappear fairly quickly. The secret is no cheating. Sugar begets sugar cravings.

2. Empty your cupboards of all food in boxes. The processing required to turn something fresh from the garden into a powdered substance that lasts for years destroys most of the nutrients. As replenishing any part of the body requires nutrients, there’s no room for food in boxes in your natural skin care routine.

3. Get rid of as many chemicals as you can. Once you’ve thrown out the boxes in the cupboard, you’ll probably have accomplished about 75% of this task. But there are a few other things to take care of: buy food that’s grown organically with a minimum of pesticides, herbicides. Don’t think you’re going to wash the stuff off. It’s been sprayed onto the plants and into the soil. It’s ingrained. Next, get rid of skin care treatment products that are loaded with chemicals. Just check the label, you’ll be able to figure out what these are. The ones you find in just about every product, and probably the most dangerous are mineral oil, petrolatum and propylene glycol, for example.

4. Get off the couch and hit the gym. Nutrients have to circulate to every cell, including skin cells.

5. Drink water – lots of it. It will keep you hydrated so your body can flush out toxins instead of lodging them in cells. No skin care treatment routine is going to work if your body is piling up junk. Get rid of it.

6. Sleep well. The body regenerates itself during sleep. It’s best to get at least seven hours and if you make sure one or two of those hours are before midnight you’ll get the most benefit. Early to bed, early to rise.

If you follow the above skin care treatment routine for the next 21 to 28 days, and are gentle on your skin – mild skin care treatment products that don’t contain harsh abrasives and heavy chemicals your body has to then detoxify from - the chances of your skin looking better at the end of that time are almost guaranteed. And you’ll feel better than you’ve felt in years!

For a skin softening bath, add 1/4 cup honey to the water.

3. Apples and pears are mild astringents. Make a quick mask by grating a large apple or pear and mixing it with 1 tbs. of honey.

EGYPTIAN SKIN CARE SECRETS...

Ancient Egypt:

No other country or culture was so concerned with beautification as was Egypt. Cleopatra the VII has also written a book of beauty secrets. Even today Egyptian glass perfume vials decorate many a classic dressing table and the herb Aloe, so ingrained in ancient Egyptian beauty treatments, is still a vital ingredient in most skin-care creams.

Body Oil:

If body oil is not a daily part of your bathing ritual, perhaps its time you made it so. The heat, dust and pollution of our times plays havoc with our skin. Ever wondered why Egyptian women were renowned for their alabaster skin? Records show that all women, from the richest to the most destitute used body oil in huge quantities. In fact, sufficient body oil for daily use was often issued as part of wages!

Egyptian Anti-wrinke cream recipe:

1 tsp sweet almond oil

2 drops of Frankincense essential oil or Rose Attar

Mix these ingredients together and you have an excellent anti-wrinkle cream. Cleanse your face and apply this to your face at night. Massage it in your skin gently for about 5 minutes, and wash off the next morning.

Almonds:

Bitter or sweet almond oil were the most common ingredients of Egyptian cosmetics, and are excellent for the skin. Use pure almond oil as an under-eye cream and keep crows-feet at bay. Almond oil is also excellent for your hair. Mix almond and coconut oil to your hair and wash it off after an hour, for excellent results.

Body Oil:

Try this: After bathing, pour a teaspoon of almond oil into a mug of water and pour it over your body as a final rinse.

HOMEMADE SKIN CLEANSING CREAMS

Cleansing creams are used not only to lift the dust, but also to remove stale make-up. Make-up has a waxy base which cannot be properly penetrated and cleansed simply by using soap and water. A cleansing cream or lotion is essential for this.

Steps for Applying a Cleanser:

Cleanser should be applied with an upward movement and kept on the skin for about half a minute, so that it could dissolve the make-up. Then remove with a tissue or damp cotton wool. Remember, stale make-up and the day's dirt and grime not only clog the pores of the skin causing blackheads, but also eventually coarsen the skin. Here are a few cleansing creams which are very easy and quick to make.

How to make homemade Cleansing Creams:

Rose Water Cleansing Cream:

Galen, a Greek physician of the 2nd century, made this cleansing cream with the following ingredients:

1 tablespoon beeswax or white paraffin wax
1 tablespoon emulsifying wax
4 tablespoons mineral oil
6 tablespoons rose water
1 teaspoon borax, and
A few drops of rose oil (perfume)

Procedure:

Melt the waxes and oil together, and at the same time heat the water and borax and make sure that the borax is completely dissolved. Remove both bowls from the heat and pour water into the oil Continue stirring until a white cream starts to form. Add a few drops of rose oil when the mixture begins to cool. Carry on beating until the mixture thickens.

Cucumber Cleansing Cream:

Ingredients:

3 teaspoons bees wax
4 teaspoons Coconut oil
5 teaspoons mineral oil or olive oil
4 tablespoons cucumber juice
1 teaspoon Glycerine
A pinch of borax
1 drop green Colouring

Procedure:

Melt the oils and wax in the usual way over a pan of boiling water. Simultaneously heat the cucumber juice, glycerine, colouring and borax in a separate bowl. Ensure that the borax dissolves thoroughly. When the contents of both the bowls are melted and warm, add water drop by drop to oil stirring continuously. Now remove it from the heat and beat until the mixture thickens and cools. Keep the cream in the refrigerator as cucumber juice gets bad quickly. Make the cream in a small quantity.

CZECH BORN INDIAN MODEL YANA GUPTA INNERMOST BEAUTY SECRETS...

CZECH BORN INDIAN MODEL YANA GUPTA INNERMOST BEAUTY SECRETS:

Yoga - the natural body workout:

To attain a well-rounded body, it’s essential to exercise religiously without any long breaks. By that I don’t mean hitting the gym all day long but improving the flexibility of the body naturally. I practice yoga and other simple stretching exercises that are more fruitful than pumping iron in the gym. Very few people are aware of this, but certain yogic aasans are excellent for hair, as they activate blood circulation in that area and keep the tresses strong and luster-rich! The best exercise for great hair is to stand upside-down with the head facing the ground. At least that works like magic for me.

Diet essentials:

I follow a balanced diet that is a right mix of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins. Eating small portions of meals five to six times a day is also equally vital. Consuming gallops of food at a go can prove detrimental. Also remember, there should be no limit to your water-intake. I make sure I drink lots of water on a daily basis.

Skin secrets:

An easy path to flawless skin is sweating it out. It’s very important for the pores of the skin to open up and respire. That’s exactly what happens when the body sweats. Our skin also reflects what we eat, therefore, include as much of raw fruits and green vegetables in your diet as possible. Natural fluids like coconut water and plain lukewarm water also work wonders for me.

Avoid direct sun exposure:

Since its peak summer these days, I steer clear off tanning in the sun. Try and avoid direct expose under direct sun as far as possible. Over exposure of direct UV rays are lethal for your skin. Use a high quality sunscreen lotion half and hour before you step out.

Natural oils:

Even a soothing body massage with natural oils, like virgin olive oil can prove very reinvigorating. A gentle oil massage on a regular basis is indispensable for hair as it provides excellent nutrition to the roots. I massage my hair with natural oils twice a week and make sure the oil is rinsed off completely.

Mane magic:

The beauty products you apply are of utmost importance in the long run. So use a good-quality mild shampoo for daily use. Because the weather conditions in Mumbai are so sultry and humid, I shampoo my hair daily. I also make it a point to use a rich conditioner after I am done with shampooing. If you want great hair, try consuming as many raw almonds and walnuts during the course of day as possible. They help increase the tensile strength of hair. Lastly, to avoid bad-hair-days and split-ends, you must go for a monthly trim.

NATURAL FACIAL HAIR REMOVAL...

ANTI-AGING TIPS...

The aging of your skin may be inevitable. But why rush it? There are ways to slow down sagging and wrinkles. Using skin creams and treatments may already be a part of your daily grooming regimen. However, topical creams cannot be expected to work alone for full efficacy. The best way to start your anti-aging effort is on the inside.

First of all, are you drinking enough water? There are varying opinions about how much water an individual actually needs for good health, but the general consensus remains that you probably aren't drinking enough. If you're thirsty, your skin is thirsty too — which means dryness and wrinkles. Hydrate your skin by drinking water regularly.

Drink water . . . but avoid alcohol and soft drinks. The contents of these beverages — alcohol and caffeine — dehydrate skin, wreaking havoc on its structure. An acceptable alternative to water is green tea, which is low in caffeine (but enough for a pick-me-up). Green tea, as you probably already know, is loaded with antioxidants that destroy free radicals, which cause aging.

A multivitamin is always a good idea, but our bodies most easily absorb nutrients from food. Include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet. In addition to vitamins and minerals, you're fortifying your body with more antioxidants. Blueberries are one of nature's “super foods,” having one of the highest antioxidant values.

Exercise! Exercise helps keep us from aging by keeping weight down, working the heart, toning muscles, and getting the blood flowing (to the skin!). People who exercise look younger and feel younger. It's a most beneficial habit to get into.

People who look younger than their age repeatedly reveal one vital secret: getting enough sleep. If you aren't, find ways to work it in. Instead of sitting up in front of the television, turn it off at a reasonable time and take a book to bed. This quiet practice can lead to an easier time getting to sleep — sometimes the colors and movement of the television keep our brains working even after we've begun to relax.

You may feel that you don't have the time to take care of your skin, but keep in mind: by the time you do “have time,” it will be too late. The time to protect your skin is now! Years later, you'll be thanking yourself for it — and not only will you look younger, you'll feel younger too.

TIPS TO BE FOLLOWED TO AVOID LONG HAIR DAMAGE...

The number one problem affecting long hair is breakage, usually seen as shorter, fly-away strands, or split ends. From the moment you wake up to the time you go to sleep and even as you sleep, there are many factors that can lead to hair breakage.

One of the most common causes is poor maintenance – things like improper brushing and washing and infrequent trimming. Lifestyle factors, such as poor nutrition, stress and even restless sleeping can also lead to hair damage.

The problem is that what many women think is good for their hair may actually be hurting it. Through proper care using simple techniques and the right maintenance products, anyone can have long, beautiful, healthy locks.

The Beauties Beauty tips recommends the following:

Finger Raking:

Upon waking, use the back of the hand, run fingers through hair to remove snarls and tangles.

Proper Brushing:

Bend forward, allowing hair to fall. Using only a wooden base natural bristle brush, such as our Long Hair Brush, bring hair from the nape of the neck over the head and down to the ends. Then, stand straight again with hair falling normally and brush from the underside of the hairline down the strands to the ends. Now, brush the top layers into place with long, even strokes. After each stroke, smooth hair with hands to reduce static. Increase the number of strokes weekly, starting with five and increasing by one a week until you find a comfortable routine. If oiliness develops, reduce strokes.

Brush only when dry. Hair is weakest when it is wet and brushing can easily damage it. Even when hair is dry always comb before brushing.

Combing:

Separate hair into small sections. With a wide-tooth comb, such as our Long Hair Comb, carefully work from the ends in a downward direction only. Use only a wooden or tortoise shell comb – never rubber. Do not pull or yank hair.

Drying:

Air-dry whenever possible.

Curling:

Use regular hair rollers, winding hair loosely around them. Avoid electric rollers, hot combs, and curling irons, or use these on a cool setting. Pin curls or barrel curls are the safest and fastest methods of drying hair.

Shampooing:

If your hair is dry and brittle, wet hair, then coat with a light conditioner before shampooing, such as our Time Released Moisturizer. This acts as a buffer and helps protect the hair strand. Then begin shampoo by removing dirt through gentle sudsing. We recommend using our Body Essence Shampoo, which is specially formulated with natural botanicals and designed to clean the hair without stripping away its natural oils. Massage your head to increase the blood supply to the scalp and roots. On an as need basis, we recommend using our Detoxifying Shampoo to remove unwanted residues from styling products and the environment.

Environment:

Before going out to the beach or pool, comb conditioner such as our Seaweed Pac, through the hair. This helps to protect hair from the sun, chlorine, salt water, and from the sun's heat, and serves as a deep conditioning treatment.

Wear a hat, cap or scarf if you can to protect hair from over-exposure to the sun, salt or chlorinated water, wind and air pollution.

Trimming:

Have hair trimmed on a regular basis (approximately every two months). This is especially important for growing out layers and/or bangs to reshape and make each stage of growing hair out a style.

Conditioning:

Always apply conditioner from the ears down – never condition the scalp. Do not over-condition.

Conditioning too often can cause the cuticle layer of hair to lift making hair brittle and leading to breakage. Rather than conditioning every day, try our All Purpose Aloe Detangler, for snarl free combing.

Styling:

Your hair style is a reflection of your personality and a wonderful way to express your individuality. All too often conventional styling products contain alcohol or other harsh chemicals. These ingredients are used to keep the hair in place and to give the appearance of shiny healthy hair. In the case of these mass-marketed products the look achieved is only surface deep and they tend to damage the hair. The Long Hair Care Group has developed a highly specialized line of styling products which not only makes your hair look great, they impart essential botanicals and vitamins to each strand, conditioning your hair as they hold it in place and body and give it incredible shine.

Sleeping:

Even the way you sleep can affect your hair. Restless sleepers may actually be breaking hair as they sleep.

If you’re a restless sleeper, try a satin pillowcase so that the hair glides when you move in your sleep. On regular cotton cases hair can get caught and break.

Putting hair up to sleep is also helpful. Hair should be put in a ponytail on top of the head. Always use rubberbands that are rapped in cloth, commonly known as "scrunchies."

Hair Growth:

Hair grows at a rate that is in accordance with your body’s chemistry, balance and well being. It is a misnomer that after a certain point hair growth slows. Patience and proper maintenance is the key, when growing your hair long. It is VERY important to trim split ends as the need arises. Also to use products to prevent split ends such as our pre-shampoos, shampoos, conditioners and styling products. Eat a well-balanced diet, work out and supplement your diet with our vitamins, which are specifically designed to help balance your hair. Remember that hair is a man-made fiber and is a natural reflection of your health and well being. So if you are unhealthy to your body, your hair will lack the look you desire. Treat your body with care, follow a proper hair care program and supplement your diet with balancing vitamins and a drop of patience and your hair will look and feel great.

BEAUTY TIPS FOR WHITE & BEAUTIFUL TEETH...

Actress Catherine Zeta Jones brushes her teeth with mashed strawberries every day. They contain Malic Acid, which acts as a mild astringent when mixed with baking soda.

If you have some Hydrogen Peroxide around the house, add 3 drops of it to some baking soda and brush with it like you would with toothpaste. This is similar to some of the whitening formulas you can buy in the pharmacy.

For a more natural solution, try making a paste of one of the following recipes:

1. Lemon juice and salt.

2. Apple cider vinegar and baking soda.

3. Orange peel and bay leaves.

Keep in mind that overusing any home remedy, especially salt and lemon juice, can strip away your tooth enamel, so be sure to only use it as a short term solution.

BEAUTY TIPS FOR BEAUTIFUL HANDS..

When you hear about wrinkles and skin aging, your first thoughts are about face and neck. But the earliest signs of aging will show on your hands.

Often neglected, hands need to be regularly taken care of. Frequent contacts with water and chemicals, sun, cold weather, gardening - all put your skin under a big stress. While hands do not have many oil glands, they will give away your age earlier than your pampered face.

In the meantime, it has been noticed that after making eye contact, the next thing people pay attention to is your hands.

What can you do to keep your hands beautiful?

* Moisturize! Several times a day. Dry skin is easily injured and looks wrinkled.

* Protect your hands - wear gloves when gardening, washing dishes, or dealing with chemicals

* Use sun protection

* Keep your hands dry. Any water left on your hands will evaporate and dry out the skin.

* Give your hands a special treatment - herbal or oil bath - once in a while.

Here are a few suggestions for your next hand spa:

(1) Herbal hand bath:

Bring 1 qt of water to boil and pour over 1 tbsp of herbs (you can use all of these or just one: chamomile, nettle, sage, coltsfoot, calendula). Let the infusion cool to 100-110F and soak your hands in it for about 15-20 minutes. Dry your hands thoroughly and apply a rich moisturizer.

(2) You can make your own nourishing hand cream:

Thoroughly mix 1 teaspoon of honey and 3 tbsp of unsalted butter. Add 1 tbsp of strong herbal infusion. This will make a very rich cream. It will take a while to absorb, but leave your hands silky and smooth.

(3) For dry skin use this hand treatment 1-2 times a week:

* 1 tbsp Glycerin

* 1 Egg yolk

* 2 tbsp vegetable oil (olive, almond, or another oil of your choice)

* Lemon Juice of 1 lemon

* 3 1/2 - 4 oz of an herbal infusion (for example: chamomile, calendula, elderflower) or rose water.

FACE PACK FOR TIRED & DRY-TO-NORMAL SKIN...

TURMERIC AND EGG FACE PACK:

A luxurious facial feed for tired and dry-to-normal skin:

Ingredients:

* 1 egg yolk
* 2 teaspoons turmeric
* 2 teaspoons brewer's yeast

* 2 teaspoons pollen grains

* 2 dessertspoons jojoba essence rosewater, to blend

Whisk the egg yolk and then add the remaining ingredients. This mask is easy to apply but rather sticky, so sponge off carefully and it will leave your skin beautifully smooth.

TIPS TO BE FOLLOWED WHILE APPLYING FACE MASKS/PACKS...

How to use a Face Mask:

Face Masks are fun to use and can help clean pores, absorb oils, and give the skin a radiant glow.

1. Wash your face. Always wash face in upward, circular motions. Always do to your neck whatever you do to your face. After washing face, remove residue with a wet cloth and splash thirteen times. Face Masks work best when they're applied to clean, dry skin.

2. Follow directions. Don't keep a mask on longer than suggested. Not keeping it on long enough will be a waste of money and time.

3. Rinse your face thoroughly with warm water after removing your face mask.

4. Follow up with your favorite toner or freshener, and then apply your moisturizer or night treatment.

Choosing a face mask:

Those of you with a normal skin, can go for a face mask, once a week. For oily skin, two to three times a week is a great way to keep oil and breakouts at bay. If you have dry skin, a hydrating face mask once a week can really help, but keep the deep cleansing varieties for once-a-month treatments.

STRESS RELIEF PROVIDED BY HERBS...

Chances are, you may not know about the use of herbal medicine to provide stress relief.

We certainly can’t blame if you don’t. Herbal medicine, after all, is still trying to gain its former popularity and so many people are still in doubt of its efficacy and prefer to use prescription medicine instead. But you see, if you take the time to check historical texts, the use of herbal medicine can date back as far as 5,000 years ago! The efficacy of herbal medicine, therefore, should not be in doubt anymore since it’s supported by five millennia worth of proof.

Before we give you an example of herbal medicine that can provide stress relief, however, we shall give you a little bit of do's and don’ts on the subject of herbal medicine to ensure safety and proper use.

Do consult your doctor first before taking any herbal medicine to fight stress or for whatever reason. Self-medication is never good and it can bring you a lot of complications that could have easily been avoided if you had only asked your doctor about your chosen type of medication.

When consulting your doctor, do bring a sample of your herbal medicine so he’ll be able to analyze whether it’s real and of good quality. To safeguard yourself from cheap herbal medicine imitations, always buy from any herbal medicine store of good and long-standing reputation. These stores may even offer money back guarantee and of course, that wouldn’t hurt at all.

Your doctor may also make you aware if there would be any possible negative reactions if and when you do take a particular herbal medicine. That doesn’t mean you can’t take herbal medicine anymore to provide relief; it simply means that you’re just not able to take that particular herbal medicine and you have to search for another.

Lastly, if you’re already taking prescription medicine, you truly need to visit your doctor before taking herbal medicine as well because there are instances when a combination of both can result to unwanted complications.

And now for an example of herbal medicine that can provide stress relief:

Catnips – One of the most common symptoms of stress are diarrhea, increased or loss of appetite and anxiety. If these are stress symptoms that trouble you most, this herbal medicine is definitely what you need because it nurtures the stomach and nerves.

Kava Kava – This herbal medicine can provide stress relief by vanquishing symptoms like insomnia (typical of workaholics who love to do overtime) and anxiety (typical of workaholics who have high pressure jobs).

Causes For Baldness In Men

Going bald is a fact of life for millions of men. Adults lose about 10,000 scalp hairs each and every day. Hair normally lives for around five years. With male pattern baldness these hairs do not always get replaced and gradually bald areas appear. This process can however take a long time and the age at which you start to lose hair does not necessarily provide any clues as to how long it will be until you define yourself as bald.

Normal Hair Loss:

There are a number of reasons why men start to go bald, but if you are a man between the ages of about 20 to 45 and you start to lose scalp hair, then the chances are 95 per cent certain that you are experiencing male pattern baldness. As the term suggests, male pattern baldness follows a typical sequence or pattern.

Hair loss can start in different areas but is usually at the temples and/or on the crown of the head. Initial thinning of hair progresses over a number of years and may lead to total baldness but more typically loss of hair over the top surface of the head.

The Cause of Male Pattern Baldness:

Most men are genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness. It is the effect of hormones on the hair follicle that produces male pattern baldness. Testosterone, a hormone that is present in high levels in males after puberty, is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase. DHT has an adverse affect on the hair follicles. Acting on a hormone receptor on the hair follicle it slows down hair production and produces weak, shorter hair, sometimes it stops hair growth from the follicle completely. This process gradually depletes your stock of hair and is normal hair loss.

Hair loss, Illness or Disease:

Go to your doctor if:

You lose hair suddenly, if your hair loss is in clumps or significant enough that you notice large amounts on your pillow, covering the back of your clothes or when you wash your hair. This type of hair loss does not represent typical male baldness, but it does require a diagnosis. Don't worry. Hair loss can occur for a number of reasons and can often be treated successfully.

FOUR SIMPLE SKIN CARE TIPS FOR DRY SKIN...

If your skin is as dry as the Sahara, it might be easier than you think to bring a much-needed oasis to your epidermis.

Nearly everyone knows the irritating itch or burn of dry skin. The sale of moisturizing products has grown into a booming industry.

Here are some simple steps you can take during your morning routine to make your skin silky and smooth:

1.
Rinse thoroughly. When showering or washing your face, be sure to rinse all soap residue off your skin. Soap can leave a thin film that will dry and possibly irritate your skin.

2. Soften while you shave. Shaving can sometimes leave your skin feeling extra dry. In addition to your daily moisturizing routine, you can also try using razors that come with moisturizing features.

3. Smooth your skin with honey. Honey has natural properties and vitamins that help alleviate dryness in skin and calm irritation. To cleanse your skin with honey, dissolve two tablespoons of honey into a liter of warm water. Splash over the face for 10 minutes.

You can also give your skin its daily dose of honey via certain products that include it as a moisturizing agent, such as lip balms or facial masks.

4. Moisturize with milk. Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, reputedly took frequent milk baths to keep her skin looking beautiful. Although she could only guess about the health benefits of milk, we now know that the alpha hydroxy acid derived from milk not only helps to exfoliate old skin, but soothes it as well.

Once a week, mix 2 to 4 cups of milk into your bath and soak for up to 20 minutes. You can also add a few tablespoons of honey and give your dry skin a double treat.
